The growing concerns towards the high vehicular pollution levels, have raised the demand for the electric vehicles in Asia Pacific region. However, even the government initiatives are creating awareness for reducing the use carbon footprints, is also reason behind the growth of EVs in the region. Adding to this many government bodies are offering subsidies and some financial aids to promote the purchase of electric vehicles. The increase in the purchase rate has also increased the EV charging station infrastructures.
It has been observed that in the recent years the government bodies have been heavily investing in the development of the high-capacity public charging infrastructures. However, the growing installation of the Combined Charging System (CCS) and the Tesla supercharger connectors are also driving the market. They are driving because of their compatibility and their ultra-fast charging speeds.
In all the other three levels of charging the level 3 is the fastest charging level. It delivers more power, faster and ideal for charging. This level provides DC (direct current) charging and can be installed in the residential areas too. On the other side the level 1 and 2 chargers AC (alternate current) into the electric vehicle and then it is converted into DC through a small onboard charger. As there is a limited space given inside the EV, the charge’s size is also limited. This is the reason behind having the maximum speed of level 2 around 22 kW to 43 kW.
The major difference between level 3 with DC charging and level 1 and 2 with AC charging. Its simple that the level 3 chargers convert the alternate current and direct current within a charging station and allows the direct current to flow directly from the station itself to the electric vehicle’s battery. The level 3 chargers don’t take much time to charge, can be fully charged in 10 to 15 minutes.
According to the research report published by Bonafide Research titled as “Asia Pacific Electric Vehicle Charging Station Market Outlook, 2027”, Asia Pacific’ charging station market is estimated to grow with CAGR of 23.41% by the end of forecasted year.
As per research, China is dominating the Asia Pacific region as the largest manufacturer as well as service providers of EV charging stations. China has always been at the top in terms of technology and even now in the segment of electric vehicles and its charging stations. EVs are very popular in this region compared to the other regions and is also expected to be with the highest market share by the end of the forecasted year 2027.
The electric vehicles or EVs are gradually gaining huge popularity as an alternative for fuel and gas vehicles in the market. These vehicles have become more popular because of the increase in harmful side effects to the environment such as drastic climate changes leading to global warming, zero-emission mobility for electric vehicles and these also reduces the urban air and noise pollution. Therefore, in a positive way these electric vehicles can save the planet from getting polluted in coming few years.
